Since our founding in 1808, education has been a key part of our mission.
We were the founder of one of the first pediatric residencies in the country
and were the site of New Jersey's First Academic Medical University.
Since then, our medical professionals have made historical contributions
to the world of healthcare, including the work of Dr. Edmund Burke (surgery),
Dr. Samuel Cosgrove (obstetrics), Dr. Anthony Damato (heart electrophysiology),
and Dr. Carroll Leevy (liver disease).
Jersey City Medical Center is a teaching affiliate and a member of Americas
Essential Hospitals.
Internal Medicine Residency
Our setting offers an ideal venue for Internal Medicine training of a multiethnic
Resident staff with emphasis on hands-on experience and proximate patient
care. Residents mature into competent Board Certified Internists under
the guidance of well-qualified faculty.

PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists
responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range
of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate
year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
