Long Branch is a pleasant ocean beach resort city strategically located
along the near to major cities like New York, Philadelphia and Atlantic
City. The city is connected to New York City and Northern New Jersey via
New Jersey Transit trains running on the North Jersey Coast Line and through
Garden State Parkway by road.
Monmouth Medical Center is located in the heart of Long Branch, just a
couple of blocks from the Jersey Shores. Long a popular spot for surf,
sun and shore fun, the town, with its cutting-edge residential beachside
condos, premier shops and restaurants at Pier Village, has created a buzz
all along the northern shore. During the summer, there are free weekly
outdoor concerts and movies under the stars and year-round historic sites,
parks, shops and restaurants that offer something for every interest.
The sands and water from the famous Sandyhook National Recreation Area
through Monmouth beach to the summer resort of Asbury Park have been long
drawing swimmers, surfers, tourists, watersports adventurers, fishers,
leaving not even the Presidents of the country.
The renovated 9.5-mile long Boardwalk overlooking the ocean is one of the
favorite places for our residents and employees. In their free time, residents
frequently engage in activities that are leisurely and that build camaraderie.
Residents involve in sporting competitions in volleyball, soccer, basketball,
and cricket and go out together for bowling, snow-sports, trail hiking
and adventurous sports like bungee jumping and skydiving.
The Department of Medicine annually holds a Holiday Party in December and
the Graduation Party in June for the outgoing PGY-3s. The family atmosphere
is strengthened by frequent get-togethers organized by residents as for
thanksgiving, Halloween, New Year and ethnic festivities of residents.
Residents in other departments, hospital employees, and attendings are
often a part of these events.
Long Branch and the adjacent townships of Ocean, Asbury Park, Eatontown
and West Long Branch offer affordable and quality housing, excellent public
and private schools and all facilities at a short distance. The most ethnically
diverse society; home to more scientists and engineers per mile than anywhere
else in the world; third highest per capita income in the country; top
school system in the country and home to prestigious universities including
Ivies make New Jersey one of the most coveted location to settle down.
And the region boasts a whole lot more. Acres of farmland straddle the
more rural roads, which are colored by produce stands overflowing with
just-harvested fruits and vegetables.A mixture of quaint stores, cafes,
and galleries line historic shopping districts that haven’t lost
their small-town charm.
