Med-Peds residents at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children's
Hospital of New Jersey receive extensive exposure to both adults and children
in all aspects of primary, subspecialty and critical care. The Med-Peds
graduate from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is comfortable and confident
in both outpatient and inpatient care and generally continues on in a
career in primary care, single or combined fellowship, hospitalist medicine
or urgent care.
The Med-Peds residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offers a broad
spectrum of clinical exposure to all age groups. Children’s Hospital
of New Jersey services include a Level 3 NICU with the only ECMO (Extracorporeal
Membrane Oxygenation) center in New Jersey, a 19-bed PICU, coverage in
over 30 different pediatric subspecialty services including Pediatric
Surgery, Pediatric Anesthesia, Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery,
as well as Pediatric Hematology and Oncology just to name a few. In addition,
a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine is also maintained. The adult
services include world class cardiac and pulmonary transplant centers,
extensive CCU and ICU services, an adult Congenital Heart Disease center
and a well established Geriatric Center. Adult fellowships offered include
Cardiology, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Hematology and Oncology, Infectious
Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Nephrology, and Electrophysiology.
Other graduate medical education programs include Emergency Medicine,
Radiology, Vascular Surgery, OBGYN, Disaster Medicine.
