Education and Research

The Department of Corporate Nursing Education, under the direction of Mary
Beth Russell PhD RN, Director of Nursing Education and Research Saint
Barnabas Medical Center and Vice President Clinical Education & Nursing
Research – Nursing Education, provides both educational leadership
and support to Directors of Education and nurses at all of our affiliating
institutions. Though these facilities vary in size, Corporate Nursing
Education assures that nurses have equal access to state-of-the-art educational
programming. In this way, nurses in every subspeciality can be kept abreast
of the newest advances in their field.
Corporate Nursing Education sets the educational standards for nursing
orientation and competency throughout the system. The content and methods
used in nursing orientation are continually updated to reflect changes
in health care practice. Evaluation of content is closely monitored to
meet the evolving learning needs of the nurses and the care needs of the patients.
